This prompted negative reactions from critics who questioned the lack of accessible background data and complete figures.

Norsk Datasenterindustri expressed strong criticism toward the handling of the report. They argued that Teknologirådet was selective in the information provided to the media and pointed out that the underlying calculations used to reach the conclusions were not made available for review.
