Exclusive: Danish legal research startup Pandektes raises €13.5M Series A
Danish legal research startup Pandektes has raised €13.5 million in a Series A funding round. Founded to help lawyers search complex legal information more efficiently, the company initially secured €2.9 million in seed funding in February 2025, at which point just over 100 organizations used the platform.
By quickly bringing an AI search product to market, Pandektes gained a significant headstart over legacy competitors, who took one to two years to respond. The founders developed the platform by having countless conversations with legal practitioners to tailor the technology to various areas of law, aided closely by steady feedback from their very first customer.
Part of the newly raised capital will be used to open the platform's data collection to other developers through an API. Pandektes distinguishes its search tools from legal AI workspaces used for drafting and reviewing documents, viewing the latter as non-competitors.
The startup also acknowledges a broader trend of untrained individuals using general-purpose artificial intelligence to understand their rights and advocate for themselves.
