Tasks that previously involved significant friction and setup time can be delegated to an AI assistant with a simple prompt, allowing programmers to inspect unfamiliar software in minutes.

Although most developers are not yet habitually modifying every tool they use, this shift makes the foundational promise of open source software vastly more accessible. By removing the barrier of manual compilation and code navigation, AI-assisted programming creates a practical path toward active software customization that did not exist recently.
