Copenhagen’s Pandektes raises €13.5 million to build the data infrastructure for AI-powered legal research

Copenhagen-based LegalTech company Pandektes has raised €13.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Alstin Capital, with participation from PROfounders, Scale Capital, and existing investors. This follows a €2.9 million seed investment from the previous year.

Founded in 2022 by Casper Laursen and Søren Brokær, Pandektes has developed a platform that aggregates, structures, and connects legal information from thousands of sources, including legislation, court decisions, and administrative rulings, while combining it with internal organization data. The platform currently operates in Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland, serving over 500 law firms, enterprises, and public institutions, and has experienced sixfold revenue growth over the past twelve months.

Rather than acting strictly as an end-user legal research tool to compete with legacy providers like LexisNexis and Westlaw, Pandektes aims to serve as a foundational data infrastructure. It provides structured legal data through an API to power the next generation of AI agents and legal technology products.

The newly acquired capital will be used to expand the company's geographic footprint across Europe and North America, grow the team, and formally open its technology infrastructure via an API to make cross-border legal research more consistent and accessible.
