Working in power markets? Let's talk

ML Engineer Forecasting Optimization

Electricity Maps is building the world's most comprehensive electricity data platform. Real-time, historical, and forecasted electricity mix, prices, load, and carbon intensity across markets worldwide.

Power markets are a wide, fast-moving space and one with a lot of room for someone with the right experience to help shape what direction we take. That's why we'd rather meet you now even if we don't have an official role on the page. From there, we can figure out together what makes sense. We especially love hearing from people who come with a view: where you'd add value, what you'd want to work on or what you think we're missing.

Maybe you work in one of the following areas:

Day-ahead and intraday forecasting

BESS and asset optimization

Imbalance and balancing markets

Renewable generation forecasting (wind, solar, etc.)

Power market analytics or trading

Something adjacent

We're interested in talking across all lines of work in these areas: Engineering, ML, product, commercial, analytics, or something else. Whatever angle you come at it from, we're curious to hear it.

What to expect

We read every intro that comes through. If we see something we want to learn more about, we'll reach out to get to know each other and figure out together where your experience could add the most value.

About Electricity Maps

There are two sides to what we do. The first: decarbonizing the grid by making historical, real-time, and forecasted data on electricity mix, load, and carbon intensity available to anyone making smarter decisions across the energy transition.

The second is newer for us - we've started working with energy traders, asset operators, and BESS players in European power markets, building out price forecasting, market signals, and adjacent tooling. It's an area we're growing fast in and one with plenty of room for the right person to help shape where it goes.
