Student Assistant at Evaxion A/S
We are seeking a student assistant to support our bioinformatics team.
Using cutting-edge immunology, bioinformatics, and machine learning methods, Evaxion develops predictive models to design and develop efficacious vaccines for patients. We are seeking a student assistant to support our bioinformatics team.
Your role
You will support a team of bioinformaticians with tasks such as setting up and running pipelines for sequence analysis, curating immunological data, and developing predictive models. You will gain industry experience in bioinformatics and vaccine development. As you grow into the role, you will gain a great deal of freedom and responsibility and will be able to present your own findings and interpretations to the team. The position is 10–15 hours per week.
Your responsibilities
— Develop and run pipelines for the analysis of sequencing data (WGS, RNA-seq)
— Collect and curate immunological data and use it to develop novel tools or improve existing ones
— Conduct literature research on relevant bioinformatics tools and methodologies
Your profile
You are near the end of your bachelor’s degree or at the beginning of your master’s degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, data science, or a related field, and you can conduct basic bioinformatics analyses with limited guidance.
Your skills could include:
— Experience with Python scripting for bioinformatics or data analysis
— Knowledge of workflow management systems (e.g. Snakemake or Nextflow)
— Familiarity with working in a shared Linux-based compute cluster environment
— Ability to read a scientific paper and present the main findings
