Get a glimpse of our world The Data Science team consists of five highly skilled professionals, all dedicated to improve global healthcare through better access to medicine by delivering critical data and insights that drive informed decision-making.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including data analysts, data engineers, product managers, and key business stakeholders—to develop data-driven solutions that scale.

As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in developing and deploying machine learning models that power business insights and operational efficiencies and support tactical and strategic decision-making across Abacus Medicine.
Your responsibilities will include:
Design, develop, and deploy advanced models, including classical machine learning, deep learning, and algorithmic solutions, to solve complex business problems.
Analyze tabular datasets to generate actionable insights, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
Design and maintain scalable MLOps pipelines for seamless model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
Promote best practices in Data Science by optimizing workflows and expanding the DS/ML toolbox with tools that enhance model accuracy, runtime, and maintainability.
Strengthen our technical infrastructure by integrating modern technologies that enhance efficiency, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
Drive innovation by evaluating and integrating emerging ML/AI methodologies, including LLMs, to enhance model performance.
Translate complex model results into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Share expertise through knowledge sharing and sparring sessions.
Proactively identify potential data science applications for value creation.
Contribute to branch development initiatives and long-term planning, including roadmap definition.
Fuel for your success in the role
We imagine you have:
Master’s degree in a data science-related field (e.g., computer science, cognitive science, IT, mathematics/statistics, economics).
Advanced Python programming skills.
Proficient in Data Science skills including classical machine learning for tabular data, ML frameworks (scikit-learn, deep learning frameworks), data wrangling, data analysis, and visualization.
Experienced with the following technologies: SQL, Web APIs, Git, Linux commands.
Excellent English communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Show genuine care for both team dynamics and the success of the organization, fostering a positive and inclusive work culture.
Preferred qualifications:
Prior working experience in applying data science, with a focus on machine learning and predictive modeling.
Familiarity with the following technologies: MLOps, Spark, Cloud platform (e.g. Azure/AWS), mlflow, ETL processes, CI/CD processes.
Databricks environment for building and deploying ML models.
Leveraging LLMs for enhancing the performance of ML models through prompt engineering and embeddings.
